| Description |
This is an excellent example of cartography, from the premier lineage of map makers. Janson was an articulate engraver and cartographer with a fine aesthetic appeal. Looking at the manner in which mountains and forests were portrayed, we see the hand of a master. Here we see fine crisp lines, as well as softer curving detail. This map shows a section of France, giving us towns, rivers, as well as topography. An attractive and rare map |
